Pilots
ALIEN INVASIVE SPECIES DATASET SCENARIO: PREVENT AND PROTECT NATIVE SPECIES.
Goal: To identify the spatial and temporal patterns related to the expansion of AIS.
This pilot is based on the creation of a harmonized data model oriented towards common publication of AIS presence using datasets from Portugal and Spain.
AIS distribution will be analyzed integrated with an invasion risk map developed in the Cross-Nature project, which includes the territory of the Iberian Peninsula. This combination will be useful to verify whether the map is a good predictor of AIS distribution and to improve surveillance programs in high-risk areas using citizen observations.
PROTECTED SPECIES DATASET SCENARIO: ENCOURAGE AND PROTECT SPECIES IN DANGER
Goal: To identify protected species in the Iberian Peninsula through an interactive app using datasets from both countries.
Based on the famous “Who’s Who?" game concept, it questions several characteristics of one of the species present in the Iberian Peninsula, presenting hypotheses of response (image and short descriptive text). At the end of the game the final result will be presented as a map with its distribution in the territory (Portugal and Spain) and additional and more detailed information about it from public datasets from Portugal and Spain. The map to be presented will be integrated in an easy-to-use mapping solution for citizens and additional information about the species will be collected across Linked Open Data.
